    Initial basic thoughts - my reaction: Love the Russians!  My condolences to the Gorbachev's family and the Russian people ((note: remember the Legacy of President Franklin D. Roosevelt - so you don't have to ask which Roosevelt - ask which Bush, nobody ever knows))

    I don't know if Gorbachev actually died today, the media is untrustworthy.  But if we use astrology, we can determine what happened and when..

 This basic astrology chart wheel animation I produced to depict the movements of the celestial bodies throughout two lunar cycles.

T-square with Yod

In the past day we had some astrological transits, as we always do. We have to keep up with the score, the universe is always in flux, something is always in motion and getting into an aspect with something else. 

Today the lunar phase was 1st Quarter, which means the MOON was squaring the Sun. This happens twice in every month. So it's not rare. But on this occasion, it involved a Sun opposition to Jupiter, approaching.  This added another Moon square. Thus a T-square formed. That is called an aspect pattern.  

Meanwhile, the Sun was already in a slower-paced aspect pattern. Sun was quincunx to Pluto and quincunx to Neptune from the "other side" of the opposition axis.  Therefore we have two aspect patterns which are overlapping. This creates a configuration of planets which are in a more complicated pattern (having no name).  This is very rare and also very fleeting. If many planets are involved, it is more likely that it goes out of the pattern quicker. 

What does this pattern mean, how can we interpret it?  Of course you want to know. But it cannot be easily explained here.  It works more in a practical sense when these planets are compared within another chart.  It has to be affecting a pre-existing chart, usually a natal chart. 

In general, what is a T-square aspect pattern?  It brings a conflict between the two planets in the opposition, with the planet squaring the other two as the mediator or the instigator. In this case, it is the powerful Moon.

You'll also notice there is a second Yod,  which is separate from the first Yod.  It is not as aligned, nor as potent as the one involving the Sun. However, this Yod with Mars is slower paced and will affect things for a longer duration.

Now/in the moment Keyboa Shabbat begins - Planetary Transits

ACCORDING to our newly-created Keyboa calendar, this is one of the shabbats aka sabbath.  In the scheme of the regular series of our Keyboa shabbats, how does this one rank?  It is a normal regular one, but it is somewhat special.  Because we are able to focus upon it!

The more important shabbats typically are the ones which precede a regular Holy Day or High-Holy Day.  This shabbat does not precede one, therefore it is a regular, singular day of holy rest and worship.

Let's consider the planetary transits, the astrology of the situation!  We of Keyboa call this Chronocosmonomy.  The planets are aligned into two major opposition patterns.  And the main one of these includes the Sun and Moon.  We are approaching a Full Moon in a few hours from now, within this Shabbat.  There you go, that is what makes this shabbat a bit more holy, for this Solar year.  Whenever a FULL MOON coincides on a Shabbat and especially on a HOLY DAY, then it is a double signification. 

These other planetary aspects are also very telling!  The opposition denote a major concentration of intense tension and conflict in the world.  There is a facing off of extremes and opposing ideas are being polarized to the extent that we are very aware of them, no longer under the surface. 

In the second opposition pattern of this moment, Mars and Venus are conjunction.  This is setting u some interesting situations in the world, where the masculine and feminine energies are having to combine, if they can, to confront the energy of Jupiter, other side of the opposition.

What are the most important changes which Astrology requires?

Less importance needs to be placed upon the Zodiac signs. More attention needs to be paid to the planets and their house placements. Also the planetary aspects are extremely important.

Bearing this in mind, we should realize that talking about the “cusp” or “ingress” into a sign actually is useless information. I feel that more research has to be done in the area of zodiac influence. I do believe that we should apply the basic principles of the “quarters of the year”, the solstices and equinoxes. This fundamental division of the sky and of the annual cycle is valid.

We should have little regard for the interpretation of asteroids, since we do not even have mastery of the larger planets. If at all, the importance of the asteroid probably comes into affect when it is in opposition to the Sun.

We need to carefully examine the materialistic knowledge which has been compiled by the astronomers, especially in the past 50 years. I would point in particular toward any data about the distances of the planets, the energetic spectrum which they are radiating towards the Earth, as well as any information about gravitational effects.

Astrology is it heliocentric or geocentric?

 

Astrology, not astronomy. Modern scientists and all their technology has set those standards.  Astrology has existed before, since the ancient times. Astrology is much more based upon a geocentric system.  It is easier and more logical to use than heliocentric. I'm not getting into a discussion or analysis on the subject of the local universe and solar system; that's another essay altogether.  This topic is distinct and separate.

Astrology exists according to the geocentric system.  That is a valid system, a fully functional structure of concepts.  There's no doubt about it, heliocentric does not dispute it, nor replace it.  Geocentric and heliocentric are basically different perspectives. One is not better than the other.

This is the basic and generalized answer from which to begin our inquiry. Further analysis requires diagrams and many details.

Suffice it to say that astrology has at its core the fundamental geocentric system.  This is the model of the localized universe which functions best. We are located on the Earth after all.  We are not located anywhere else.  Face the facts and accept truth.  We are not located on the Sun! We do not live on the Sun!!

We center ourselves in reality on the Earth in the Geocentric system.  We do not use the Heliocentric system for that.
